Cedar is a sacred herb and has been used in smudging ceremonies for centuries. Native Americans considered Cedar as the most important ceremonial herb and used it for the protection, purification, healing, and prayer properties. Cedar will repel negative energy and spirits. Cedar is also used in money and abundance rituals to attract financial success and prosperity.
Bay leaf is a very versatile herb. It has powerful protection properties. Burning bay leaf will purify your space and release any unwanted energies. You can use bay leaf with candles or incense. Use these leaves in your practice, in a way that works best for you.
Snowflake obsidian is a beautiful unique stone. The snowflake patterns on each stone reflect the light airy energy of this stone. It will draw the dark deep emotions within and bring them to the surface. It will help you to shed the energy no longer serving you to prepare for new beginnings. This powerful stone will protect you and give you a sense of security and stability. You will know that no harm will come to you.
Black tourmaline is also a protective stone. It has a calm grounding energy that will bring balance to your whole body. It clears blockages and repels negative energy. Tourmaline promotes self confidence and banishes fear.
How do I Perform a Ritual?
To prepare for any ritual, the first thing to do is to cleanse.
In many traditions cleansing or purifying the space before a ritual takes place is very important. Moving stagnant energy from your home or space helps bring in new positive energy. Cleansing helps bring clarity to the mind and intuition. There are several ways to cleanse.
Smudging is one way to cleanse your space. Smudging has been a tradition of indigenous people for centuries. It involves burning sacred herbs in spiritual rituals to cleanse people or space and promote wisdom and healing.
Smudging Instructions:
Remove colorful ribbon with charm.
Light end of smudge stick and allow it to burn slowly. Keep an ash tray or shell underneath to catch any embers that may fall. Then walk clockwise and let the smoke fill the space. Repeat your intention in your head or out loud to set frequency of your cleansing once you are finished, stamp out smudge stick and or spray with rose water.
After cleansing yourself and space, you want to ground yourself and connect to your intuition. You can do this by meditation or just closing your eyes and setting your focus. Next, you can begin to repeat the affirmation in your head or out loud while holding your crystals.
